THRIFT FLIP: Twist Sweater

  1. Thrift a sweater (ideally has enough length to reach your hips so it can become a crop length

  2. Cut off the sleeves, following the seam as closely as possible so you can reattach them later

  3. Cut open the side seams of the top

  4. Cut off enough fabric from the bottom to create a crop length sweater, hem the raw edge

  5. With the cutoff fabric (you should have two rectangles that were the front and back of the sweater), hem the long edges

  6. Loop the hemmed rectangles like a pinky promise and pin the raw edges to the front of the sweater

  7. Baste the loop in place, then sew the front and back of the sweater back together again

  8. If everything fits well, reattach the sleeves
